LTDGOODWILLSOCIALWORKCENTREPARTNERSHIPINITIATIVE 2012. The main project activities included a) settting up a solar Plant for neighborhood community at the Primary Health Centre, Therkutheru village, Tamilnadu, Madurai,India. b)Installation of CFL/Tubelight in PN ward, dressing room, doctor’s room, pharmacy, hall connected to Solar Inverter,NCD room, rooms to administer injection and immunization for the patients which are connected to Solar Inverter c)Fans in PN ward, dressing room, doctor’s room, pharmacy, hall,NCD room, rooms to administer injection and immunization for the patients which are connected to Solar Inverter d)Guidance and instructions given to the staff of the Primary Health Centre on the use and upkeep of the solar panels.

It was considered as a dire necessity for the installation of solar panels at the primary health centre at Therkutheru since it would manage to some extent the frequent power cuts caused that might affect medical services offered to in-patients and out-patients from 15 villages which are covered within its jurisdiction. Surprisingly enough, the primary health centre has been catering to the needs of over 60,000 people and therefore it was strongly felt that improvising the power supply through the construction of solar panel would really benefit both the health care professionals and local communities receiving medial aid. This project launched by E.I.Dupont Pvt Ltd is very timely, productively useful and beneficial since it provides uninterrupted solar power to the primary health centre.

This is first of its kind to have been jointly undertaken by an NGO and a Corporate in the above village in Madurai District,Tamilnadu,India.

We wish to express our profuse thanks to Mr.K.Jeganathan ,Site Manager and Mrs.Sudha Viswanathan – Accounts official, Export Division E.I DuPont India Pvt Ltd for their invaluable support, assistance and encouragement extended to our organisation at every stage of the project.
