It is with great pleasure that I write in support of Dr J. Christopher Daniel, Executive Director of the Goodwill Social Work Centre, Madurai and the excellent work done by his organisation. The association with the Goodwill Social Work Centre covered many years beginning with support provided by Family Focus, one of Oz Child’s amalgamating organisations which funded a family builders program and micro enterprise program for women working in the quarries outside Madurai and a family support services for women in dysfunctional families in Madurai. The association continued after the amalgamation of three long established non-government agencies to form Oz Child. As Manager of the then International program I was involved is overseeing a program to deliver a three year vocational training to impoverished and homeless young women and men run in partnership with the Goodwill Social Work Centre. Having visited the Goodwill Social Work Centre on two occasions I can attest to the professionalism and dedication of the staff running the programs under the inspired leadership of Dr Daniel. The outcomes of the program were excellent and enabled the young people involved to have a much better chance for financial independence and a more secure future.
